Surprisingly, neither the referee nor Vera listened to the announcement because they left the ring early.") Special mention also goes to referee Sazi Xamlashe, who, according to another Fightnews report, stopped this week's bout between Joseph Makaringe and Ishmael Tetteh at the start of round six, claiming that Tetteh had quit between rounds, even though "this was not evident to ringside observers and the fighters were already exchanging blows when he stepped in to call the fight off, a decision that left the spectators, ring-side officials and both boxers and their cornermen flabbergasted....The small crowd had paid good money to watch some awful boxing."

Hinteregger can punch a bit and Knezovic had [a] tooth knocked out of position. When they tried to replace the mouthpiece it didn´t fit due the dislodged tooth. Week of January 29th - February 4th, 2006:
FOW -- Mike Howell: Fightnews reported that "[i]n what may have been one of the most embarrassing pro debuts in history, Detroit's two-nicknamed "Crazy" Mike "Dawg" Howell ran a lap around the ring before entering, much to the delight of his hometown fans. Sharply dressed in matching green robe, trunks and shoes, Howell prepared the crowd to be wowed...50 seconds later, the young cruiserweight was out cold courtesy of a right hand to the chin by Ohio's Chris Edmond, now 1-1 (1 KO). Referee Sam Williams did his usual inept job, allowing the fight to continue after the first knockdown despite having counted to nearly 16 by conservative estimate."
Dishonorable mention -- Tank top-tan lined Leonardo Resendiz for putting on an absolutely woeful performance in his first-round KO loss on Solo Boxeo, then having the gall to state in the post-fight interview that it was a "good fight" and he didn't know why the ref had stopped it, adding that he refused to entertain the idea of retirement despite having just suffered his tenth KO loss because he had "just lost a battle, not the war." (Thanks to bronc for the translation.)
High-profile tomato cans who also lost -- Peter Buckley, Jozef Kubovsky.

Week of January 22-28, 2006:
FOW -- Michael Gomez for dropping his guard in the middle of his Irish lightweight title fight against 7-11 Peter McDonough, falling to the canvas after taking eight unanswered shots, and then getting up and walking out of the ring. Gomez later denied taking a dive, instead explaining his actions by saying that he merely "just came to a decision in there that I need to retire from boxing." McDonough, meanwhile, claimed to have won because Uri Geller had helped him mentally prepare for the fight.
Dishonorable mention -- 2-40 Lourival da Silva for (admittedly) taking a dive in exchange for $200 against Fabio Garrido (who had undergone brain surgery following his previous bout), and 22-1 bumkiller Thomas Hayes for taking on 1-1 Steve Pilkington, and then allowing Pilkington to last six rounds.
High-profile tomato cans who also lost -- Peter Buckley, Alexandru Manea, Ernie Smith.

Week of January 15-21, 2006:
FOW -- Oliver "The Atomic Bull" McCall, for getting arrested for trespassing through a public housing development, and then getting himself Tasered after trying to run from the police (after having already announced to them who he was), in addition to getting busted with cocaine and a crack pipe on him while already being wanted in Virginia on cocaine-related charges. Oliver then bolstered his FOW credentials by spitting on and threatening to kill one of the police officers upon arriving at the booking room (mugshot available here).
Dishonorable mention -- Robert "4 wins over Julius Horvath" Zsemberi for posting another horrific loss, this time to Patrik Prokopecz, Jennifer Johnson for losing in 17 seconds, and Motokazu Abe, for not only getting dropped three times en route to an upset, first-round KO loss to Kazuhisa Watanabe, but also (and more significantly) inspiring Joe Koizumi to conclude his report on the bout by revealing that a "crazy aficionado of Abe threw a cup of beer with poor precision, and it made yours truly's well-tailored jacket wet with cerveza."
High-profile tomato cans who also lost -- Benji Singleton, Jozef Kubovsky, Kevin "Dog Pound" Carter.

Week of January 8-14, 2006:
FOW -- François Bastient, 26-3, for losing a decision to 6-22-4 Didier Nkuku Mupeko. (It was evidently quite a good battle though, according to this translated version of the mondoboxe.com report: "Plauso however to both contendenti that are give battle to you without pause since first struck.")
Dishonorable mention -- Karoly Kovacs, veteran of several Slovakian ring wars, for getting dispatched in 12 seconds by bumkilling ex-NFL player Leif O.D. Larsen.
High-profile tomato cans who also lost -- Kevin "Dog Pound" Carter.

Week of January 1-7, 2006:
FOW -- Zab Judah, for losing to Carlos Baldomir after saying things at the pre-fight press conference like: "We want to give him [i.e. Baldomir] his 30 seconds of fame because that is probably all the fight might last. Give him 30 seconds of fame and let him live," in addition to punching Baldomir on the hip after being given the pre-fight instructions, and then proceeding to blame the loss on Don King in the post-fight interview.
Dishonorable mention -- "Next Great Champ" runner-up David Pareja for dropping a decision to a 3-1 fighter.
High-profile tomato cans who also lost -- None.
